Ildong Pharmaceutical has been assigned the Superior status based on the 2018 Sustainable Development Goals Business Index (SDGBI), which was established by the Association for Supporting SDGs for the United Nations (ASD)
The Association for Supporting SDGs for the United Nations (ASD) is a special consultative body for the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) established to support the implementation of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 global goals adopted by 193 UN member states adopted in 2015 at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly and the 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, covering social, environmental, and economic development issues that must be addressed for the prosperity of this planet and those living on it. Under the leadership of the UN, the Goals officially came into force with a budget of approximately USD $45 which will be allocated to resolving different issues such as poverty, hunger, health, education, global warming, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, urbanization, environment and social justice.
Based on these universal goals adopted by the international community, the SDGBI is designed to provide guidance to businesses on sustainable business management, while helping them to drive their operations toward the SDGs by analyzing each enterprise.
The SDGBI consists of 12 items and 45 indicator under the 4 major sectors – social, environment, economy, and policy, which are used in the analysis and ranking.
Given the Superior status based on the UN SDGBI, Ildong Pharmaceutical will continue to be a leading company in sustainable business management.
